Looking for Photos: 1990 and 1991
Just received an email from Sarah at Omnibus. She tells me they’re a bit short on photos from 1990 and 1991 for U2 – A Diary.
Do you have any good ones? If so, please contact me right away!
Thanks!

Do they have to be ones we took, or can they be ones we found online? I have plenty of those, but alas! I was only 5 in 1991.
Hi Erika — yes, they do have to be original photos. 🙂
Actually, if you find photos online and we can then get in touch with the photographer, that would work. We do need to get the photographer’s permission.
Matt, hi from Mexico…this is an unbelievable story: back in november 1992 the band played for the first time ever here. They had a day off, and went to see Aztecs’ Pyramids on Teotihuacan, near Mexico City (Sun Pyramid & Moon Pyramid among others), they’re a must visit place for any tourist who comes to Mexico City…A magazine published amazing pictures of U2,with BP Ballon ,and others above the pyramids, Bono’s wearing black Baloroma Ray-ban shades and a Miles Davis black T-Shirt. THose pictures were taken by mambers of the U2 staff, but the magazine reported that the films came in a myysterious pack left anonymously on their office, no money was asked, they thought that someone stole a bag of the Staff guys on the bus or their hotel and the films were delivered on the MAgazine Office like a regret, who did that? it’s unknown. After 16 years of that, my brother and me still have that mag with those pics…in 10 years of surfing the net seeking for U2 info, we have never seen that Pyramid Pictures on not a single site…Bono Shirtless, with arms raised in a V screaming at the Aztec Gods…amazing picture! Let Me Know. SALUDOS DESDE MEXICO, AMIGO
Can I get a copy of those? ;p
santiago2u, is this the picture you were talking about?

Hi santiago2u — I’ve seen those photos, and do have a description in U2 DIARY of all the brouhaha over the magazine printing them. 🙂 But without permission of the original photographer, we can’t put them in the book.
That’s great Matt! Sorry about that, but it’s correct, the copyright on the pictures it’s for 99 years or something, 😀 .Jude, yeah, that’s one of the pictures featured on the mexican mag.
