It's a stadium and Pre War appearances at stadiums were rare enough for U2 My best guess is July 31t 1982 Gateshead International Stadium - UK. There are some other photos of the event here,: http://www.ukrockfestivals.com/gateshead-1982.html scroll down and you can see Edge is wearing the same light blue shirt, and Bono has a tanned sleeveless jacket on but has a white t-shirt underneath which checks with the photo. Hairstyles are the same. Looks like a match ! Looks like pre War era to me.
