Larry marching…?
October 13th, 2007
As I finish up U2 by U2, I see Larry mentioning that he once marched in an anti-war rally in Dublin. I vaguely recall seeing a photo of him doing that….
Does anyone have a clue what day that happened? Must’ve been 2003, 2004 or 2005, right?

Matt — I do recall that it was quite early in the Iraq war process. It happened near the same time of a peace demonstration I was in where I used to live (so has to be pre-Sept 04) where people were screaming “Go back to Russia, commie!” (so probably really early) at us. I remember it was cold outside. I would be very willing to wager it was this event

Yes I remember that…that was in March 2003, I believe. (The same month when the US began the invasion of Iraq).

During the Oscars Larry did a little “Sunday Bloody Sunday” drum part right at the end of their performance of Hands…it was very quick, he snuck it in, about 4 beats.

Hello Matt, I´m from Brazil, and we do have a picture of Larry from that anti-war rally up on our website. Check it out if you´re interested.

Matt,
I recall seeing Larry’s picture from the march on U2Log, maybe it’s still in their archives? I remember clearly because he looks like the Terminator and is wearing a USMC patch on his jacket.
